“There is no saint without a past. No sinner without a future” St. Augustine
-
My favorite quote:
“There is no saint without a past. No sinner without a future” by St. Augustine. This quote reminds me that anybody can be great and do great things even if you did bad things in the past. A great example of this was St. Francis. He was your stereotypical party kid and soldier but grew to become one of the most well-known Saints and a model of peace and kindness.
- A little bit about my background:
I’m half Togolese on my mom’s side, and half Angolan on my dad’s side. I was born in Clinton, MD but have lived in Dumfries, VA for as long as I can remember. I was raised Catholic and went to St. Francis of Assisi in Triangle, VA for preschool, elementary school, and middle school which is a huge part of who I am today. Currently I’m a senior at Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, VA.
- A little more about myself
Most friends will confirm that the biggest part of what makes me “Me” is my love of soccer and Manchester United. A lot of my clothes are soccer apparel, I post quite a bit about the matches, and follow players, fan accounts, and update accounts on multiple social media so I don’t miss a beat. I also like to program and have experience in Java, C#, Python, and Go. I consider myself a people person, and just like having fun and making people laugh.
- What motivates me at work?
My goal to achieve financial independence is the biggest fuel to my desire to succeed. If I know a goal is within my range, I hate failing or losing out on it. I hold myself to high standards and it allows me to maintain focus on my responsibilities.
- Random fun facts about myself:
I speak two languages fluently (English and Mina) and am close to a third (Spanish). I plan to brush up on my French and add Italian to my repertoire soon.
- What I am Hoping for my internship with the company:
From this internship at NXDT Solutions, I’m expecting to gain workplace experience and make new connections which will give me a valuable head start when I’m transitioning to adult life.
